Situated on the fringe of Auckland’s CBD, Mechanics Bay Venue is an exceptional choice for hosting birthdays, Christmas and corporate functions, as well as wedding receptions. Just minutes away from Britomart shopping and the Viaduct Basin, the venue offers stunning views of North Head, Davenport, Rangitoto Island, Sky Tower, and the Port.

This architecturally designed, multi-level venue features an in-built bar, high ceilings, and 45 dedicated parking spaces.

    Mechanics Bay is an exceptional venue suitable for a wide range of events, with particular popularity for birthday celebrations and wedding receptions.

    This space is ideal for hosting memorable parties and gatherings.

    Catering Options:
    We offer a BYO policy with no corkage fees.

    Whether you're planning boardroom meetings, cocktail parties, product launches, private dinners, or wedding receptions, Mechanics Bay provides a convenient inner-city location with ample parking.

    Additionally, Mechanics Bay is available as a photoshoot location; please inquire for more details.

    We also collaborate closely with Heli Me Helicopter Charter Service, with a heliport conveniently located right at our doorstep, making it effortless to arrive or depart your event in style.

  • To ensure the success of your event, we require a comprehensive event plan to be submitted prior to the key handover. For events such as 18ths, 21sts, or any other high-risk alcohol events deemed necessary by Mechanics Bay, the venue mandates the booking of our in-house bar team (via 1862).

    Host responsibility and guest care are paramount to us. Mechanics Bay is a premium waterfront venue available for hire, and viewings can be arranged by appointment most days of the week.

    We maintain a list of preferred suppliers for your convenience. While you are welcome to engage your own suppliers, we encourage the use of our recommended options. Please provide the details of any external suppliers, and we would appreciate the opportunity to meet them if possible. Our goal is to support you in designing and creating a memorable event, and we have all the resources you need to bring your vision to life.

  • Our standard hire period is 24 hours, commencing at either 8 AM or 10 AM on the day of the event. Keys can be collected from the Helicopter Me office located on the ground floor for venue access.

    We offer flexibility for supplier pack-in and pack-out based on the schedule of events.

    To secure your date, a 50% deposit is required upon confirmation.

  • We have up to 45 carparks available on site.
